Online status

I sometimes want to hide my online status but why does the option to hide online status appear and disappear whenever I log in? All I see is “Who can view my profile” etc. the online status option is usually above that. Is this a system glitch?

Ok that makes sense. But I was able to see it when I last logged on 2-3 weeks ago (?) and was able to be invisible. And now that's no longer the case
