He originally wanted to continue with figure skating, but his points were just a bit short of making it into the Olympics.
Plus, Hybe (then Big Hit) saw his potential as an idol and pushed him to become a trainee. That might have affected his perf in his final years as BTS was rising high and an idol career at Big Hit would have been more promising.
He quit figure skating on early 2020, just a few months before Into I-land, and became a full time trainee.
