Yeah, I could settle for a high five, as much as I do think hugs would be better (for me). What I really agree with though is your first point. Kisses are gross. What I don't get is if you get bored and play with your own spit, most people would consider that gross, which is understandable. So why is it better if someone mixes their spit with yours (if it's French kissing, it's so much worse)? Mouths are for eating, not touching other mouths. I do, however, think light pecks (only lips involved, no spit) and blowing kisses (spit stays on you instead of going to another person) is fine since. Come to think of it, how is kissing so socially accepted and why do so many people like it? I'm not even a germophobe! Have a great day/night!

Exactly! I'm happy I'm not alone in this belief. It really is gross. I remember I tried to tell some people that before and they always assumed I was aromantic or something (not wanting a romantic relationship with people), but I'm confused on how they thought that at all. Just because I don't want to kiss doesn't mean that I don't want to date people and get married. People are just weird about kissing in general, I don't get why. Eating candy>>>>>>>>>>>>kissing, by far.
Actually, hugs have a ton of other benefits besides keeping people warm (though that is one of them). Among other benefits, they can reduce pain, fear and stress, while improving heart health, your immune system and (if you like hugs) they can make you happier. The more hugs you get the more it helps the benefits that come with them (though at least eight a day is ideal). So yeah, I am very pro-hugging and am a huge hugger myself. I also heard that if you hug someone for twenty seconds at a time or longer, they subconsciously trust you more. No idea if it's true or not, but it makes sense to me and is fascinating.
