The performing arts seem to draw a higher percentage of gay people than other careers. Maybe that's not the right way to put it. A higher percentage of flamboyantly "out" gay men.
There is no out and proud thing in Korea because discrimination rights don't exist there yet. People like Holland are extreme outliers.
But I could see on average of maybe one gay member in a seven member group, 2 or 3 in a larger group. Statistically they can't all be straight. (Or all gay, wattpaders).
There are some members who are so clearly gay. I won't say names but there were pics of two male idols from different groups in the same agency practically necking in front of fans at a club.
And there are some who clearly probably aren't gay, but their fans would much rather fantasize that another attractive male idol is keeping their future place warm than any girl, and I've seen the internalized-extreme-misogyny tweets to back it up.

I agree
That's why when I talk about the possibility of my faves be dating, I always use neutral words like "partner", because in the end of the day, I don't know their sexual orientation.
Even If they are exposed with a person of the opposite gender, who knows If they aren't bi, for example? lol
Agree, I do same thing

because homosexuality are considered taboo in sk.

I would guess most idols are straight, some are gay/bi, like irl. It's not our business to decide who is what, but if an idol has specified that they like certain types of guys or girls, I don't see a point in disbelieving them.
what annoys me is when fans vehemently insist their idol is gay because they can't psychologically handle the reality that their fave has a sex life that does not include them.
Especially for fangirls, a lot of them don't want to imagine that the male idol they stan is screwing gorgeous women on the regular. Even when that's most likely the case.

I think speculating about a stranger's sex-life is pretty weird in general.

I think this reply is enough

Which is so weird when you think about it. Do they imagine a sanitized Johnlock thing - playing chess and drinking tea, and secretly waiting for their one true western fangirl love to appear?
Like if they're gay they'll be getting down to it just like a het couple. At least if they're straight the girlies maybe have 0.001% chance of maybe a groupie ONS or something. If they're gay it's probably a flat zero.

But most of time, this is also an assumption, because the person who think their bias is gay never said themselves other reason why that makes it linked to what you just say. So it's more a prejudiced projection, it seems. Not that what you said doesnt exist, but many times, commenting about how an idol seem lgbt is such a taboo. Meanwhile people say x or y are straight just because they have anything that links one to another.

I'm not denying that a fan could think an idol is queer for other reasons, everyone has a gaydar. I'm sure that not everyone is straight in kpop, lol.
I'm just saying that a lot of times it's wishful thinking on the fans' part because either they want to believe in their ships or because they don't like the idea of their bias choosing someone who isn't them. Like, if female Harry Styles fans insist that he's gay, that means the reason he wouldn't date them is because he's not into women. Meanwhile, the real reason he wouldn't date them is that he's into rich, tall and beautiful women like Olivia Wilde, not homely fangirls.
Maybe this varies by nationality or fandom, idk.
Like, in my fandom it's okay to joke that the members are in love with each other or their same-sex friends, but if someone joked that a member is in love with a man they had warm interactions with, people would get mad at you. Like just take Heejin's dating rumour for example.
