Some of it is inherited from EXO. People are taking out their grudge over past beef with EXO-Ls on NCT because EXO is no longer active or relevant enough to satisfy their thirst for revenge.

Some of it is because they're from SM and people who decided SM was their mortal enemy enjoyed SM's flop era when EXO started losing steam and NCT looked like they were going no where. NCT ruined their plans for extended periods of mockery when they became successful.

to be fair, it is not only armys hating on them. there are other SM fandoms too, especially EXO and RV fans, as well as Carats. But Army probably make up the majority of NCT antis. You can see even in this forum, many of them are borderline obsessed with NCT and go out of their way to track their sales and make entire threads to drag them.
