Hilarious and oh so accurate :angryr:

  • what was the tweet?

  • Wasn't Seventeen already big and in the top 3 bgs before Hybe? I don't know about the others since it's true they debuted under Hybe but Seventeen has their own responsibility to their fame besides Hybe and BTS. Hybe bought Pledis for a reason and I don't think anybody believes its their competency in anything.

Hybe only bought Pledis as soon as Seventeen ascended to million seller status because they could be a threat to BTS at the japanese market. Obviously BTS were way ahead but the simple rise of Svt prompted hybe to panic buy Pledis.

As a Carat, that’s not true. At this point nothing is a threat to BTS, if anything BTS is a threat to nearly every act out there. Hybe saw profit in Seventeen, not threat. Regarding Hybe purchasing Pledis as soon as “Seventeen ascended to million seller status” is not true— the acquisition and negotiations started all the way back in 2019, and by 2020, May, Pledis joined the Hybe family, Seventeen became a million seller in July of 2020. Hybe knew Seventeen is very profitable considering how huge Seventeen’s Asian fanbase is. And how they are in the top 3 of the pyramid pushed the whole narrative, otherwise they wouldn’t have bought Pledis to to have losses. That acquisition is a two-way street, not one way as some delusional fans like to think it is.

Also, last year, Pledis was the only sub-label under Hybe to earn profit
