The reactions from black people on here aren't even that severe towards Giselle, a lot of us actually like aespa and aren't trying to cancel her. I think the worst thing I've seen on here is "oh she knows/should know better"
But for every one black person saying they have a problem with it, there are 10 users exaggerating and misconstruing it like we're calling her a cross-burning racist, ranting about something else related to black people or going on with these tacky shit posts because black people having a problem with someone potentially saying racial slurs is such a hahaha funny moment. Like who tf do you think you are?
And this isn't just this situation. Pretty much every time an idol does something that people have a problem with, fans come out in droves bending over ass backwards to defend it and being loud and proud about being ignorant. There's never any room for an actual dialogue because some of y'all are on "defend defend defend" like you're getting paid for it. I really get nervous when idols do this shit because of the fan reactions more than anything else
Since when did being ignorant and unwilling to listen become something to be proud of?
