If I’m not wrong Miyeon’s visual position was added after debut. First she was only listed as main vocal and Shuhua was the only visual in the group.

Maybe. But since I only choose one member per group it made more sense to pick the one who’s been their visual representative from the very beginning and through out their whole career.
