Should oppressed minorities express grievances of each or stay quiet

  • Offenses between oppressed minorities should be 1

    1. Mostly silenced for the greater good (0) 0%
    2. Get full exposure. Fight back against anyone who offends you, doesn’t matter who it is (1) 100%

For the greater cause. There’s a lot of tension between the trans community and people who are supporting Chappelle online, most who are black. He made a lot of offensive jokes about transwomen. But he isn’t getting fully cancelled yet because he comes from an oppressed minority. So there’s trans individuals who are fully against him and others who prefer to let it go despite their difference in reaction if he was of another race.

  • both the options are so bad.

the first option is plain stupid, and the second one is as if you're trying to frame minorities like myself as bad people.

what's wrong with speaking out about injustices?? in no way am i defending people who spread even more hate (fighting fire with fire), but you're basically saying all minorities act the same way.

that is not true at all.

No, you got a weird ass understanding of what I wrote. I'm saying when occassions of one person belonging to an oppressed minority offends another oppressed group, what would the 'better' course of action be. Either take into consideration that the person doing the offense is also from an oppressed minority (and hence don't make it a huge cancel party) or it becomes irrelevant (and go all out cancelling him forever). In this case with Chapelle, other comedians would be basically banned from the industry if they said that kind of thing about oppressed groups.

that probably would've made sense if you made that clear in the title.

but again, the options sound bad for either person choosing it so..

  • He has been disliked by the left for a long time. And he still has his faithful supporters, so no.

Trump wasn't as hated in the mainstream public. He even had a popular reality tv show. But once he started talking about Mexicans and Muslims he became a pariah to regular people and mostly only white supremacists supported him.

The fact that he became president proves he was not cancelled by half of the US population.

I see the "cancel culture" as something agreed upon by the majority.

Majority of Americans don’t even know what cancel culture is, that’s more of a millennial and Z gen thing. Also a lot of people just vote by party line even if they never heard a single word the candidate said

  • None of them is good. Staying quiet even though you’re hurt is not a good idea… but fighting everyone ain’t it either. Sometimes it’s worth fighting and sometimes letting go is the better option. Some are literally offended by everything since they too sensitive, if you make a big deal out of everything, a lot will start to feel annoyed by you or think you just whiny.

Sometimes you need to ask yourself, am fighting for a bigger cause and it’s really something that needs to be addressed…. Or am I just in my feelings and just want to feel better no matter what, even if me “fighting” ain’t helping anybody except myself to feel better.

This is a problem I often have with people who think they can speak for every minority and they know better…
