Display MoreAs I mentioned in a recent thread of mine, I've compiled all available Gaon monthly physical sales data into an Excel spreadsheet.
Because of this, it was easy to calculate the average physical sales numbers for each month of the year, from 2011 to present. The results are shown in the chart below:

Not surprisingly, sales are low in December, likely due to the holidays and whatnot. However, sales are even lower in January, I imagine because of both the New Year and Korean New Year (which happens toward the end of that month).
Sales then rise through the spring before peaking in the summer months. There is a notable dip in sales in September, and the reason for this is chuseok I'm guessing.
Somewhat surprisingly, sales then increase dramatically in both October and November. It's not quite clear to me why this is the case. Why are sales during this period even greater than in most of the summer months?
