    I always thought it gave me some sort of modern-retro disco vibes for some reason, just not as much as Kura Kura... :eyes:

    Maybe it's the instrumental? Mv? Vocals/rapping? Choreo? Idk. Does anyone else think this?

    Changed the title of the thread from “Is Breakthrough retro?” to “Is TWICE Breakthrough retro?”.

    Just watched the MV for the first time.


    It has a bit of everything, honestly. It seems like a modern take on several "retro" elements. Some of their outfits remind me of the 70s (the white ones), the lighting looks like a mix of disco clubs with waporwave (albeit not especifically retro), some parts of the instrumentals sound like stuff from the 90s, etc.
