HYBE stans want to ignore the giant elephant in the room, so I'll finally address it

  • Being from an idol show doesn't even guarantee success, and there are multiple recent examples of that. When is the last time you saw an EL7Z UP song topping any charts? You probably don't even know who they are.

And way to miss the point, patty k, which is that fromis_9 left HYBE and got immediately, substantially BETTER results.

They still got the benefit of big resources and a Idol Show to get their name known compared to coming directly from a small company without any benefit from a "Idol show", it's at least is not a disadvantage.

Hey, company apologist and sycophant, I'm going to humor you for boosted engagement for a few replies longer, but please use a little intelligence so you stop insulting mine.

    Let's do some simple logic.

Idol School aired in 2017. fromis_9 debuted in 2018.

They did NOT hit it big right out of the gates at all. In fact, they were criminally underrated and overshadowed to start their careers, completely negating whatever idiotic point you're trying to prove. There were girl groups who didn't have a reality show nor came from big companies that had better success right out of the gates.

You're just looking for a way to attribute their current success to HYBE, which even if that was true, doesn't even contradict the fact they're doing BETTER without HYBE.

I'd say you're doing mental gymnastics, but that would require having a brain :meme-kek:

  • I don't say anything about HYBE, but bigger companies in general. Fromis had back up from some of the bigger players in the industry including a tv-show.

And what I see their best charted song is Supersonic when they still was in Pledis?

  • slight counterpoint

kpop is a business and businesses need not only to make a profit but a reasonable return on investment (ROI) given the risk.

it would seem that the larger companies - ie. big4 the required ROI in order for a project to go ahead/continue is much higher than at a smaller or mid tier company

Thus it is perfectly reasonable why there might be certain groups such as fromis_9 that would do well outside the big4

This is my theory of why they let Gfriend go in not because Gfriend were not profitable but rather they didn't meet the required ROI whereas they thought LSFM would
