Now, DANIELA (KATSEYE) is facing homophobia allegations

  • :pepe-clown-gear: anyways

KATSEYE member Daniela is facing criticism online after a recent TikTok video went viral, showing her reaction to a conversation among her groupmates about a song with a lesbian theme.

In the video, several members of KATSEYE discussed songs that represent them, and "Lunch" by Billie Eilish was mentioned. The song, widely interpreted as a bold expression of queer desire, includes lyrics like:

"I could eat that girl for lunch

Yeah, she dances on my tongue

Tastes like she might be the one

And I could never get enough

I could buy her so much stuff

    It's a craving, not a crush, huh"

Daniela’s facial expression and body language in response to the song mention were perceived by some as visibly uncomfortable or disapproving. This reaction sparked backlash on TikTok, with fans and netizens accusing her of being dismissive or unsupportive of LGBTQ+ themes, especially in a group known for its global fanbase and diversity.

To make matters worse, internet sleuths quickly uncovered that Daniela follows some potentially controversial figures on Instagram, including a pro-Israel activist.

While following someone does not necessarily mean endorsement, in the current climate of heightened social and political awareness, such actions often draw intense scrutiny.

On social media, the reactions were divided. While a lot of people defended Daniela, saying her reaction might have been misinterpreted or taken out of context, others were less forgiving:

    • "Daniela didn't even do anything wrong in the first video, half the members of katseye reacted the SAME WAY. yall are jumping to conclusions"
    • "I met my people, finally, I'm not the only one who feels something strange about Daniela

Meanwhile, some fans called for understanding, asking others not to jump to conclusions based on a few seconds of footage. Others argued that public figures, especially idols in the K-pop industry, have a responsibility to foster inclusive environments.

    Thoughts?

  • interesting

people can react however they want to whatever they want...

if people think they've found evidence of her being anti LGBTQ or pro LGBTQ or anti Israel or pro Israel or literally anything to cancel her - that's their choice just as people can react the opposite and defend her as well

I've always said anybody can cancel/boycott (and vice versa - defend/continue to support) anybody for any reason they want...that's just freedom of will/expression

The difference is where people then "attack" or hate on her or a group because of it - now obviously what is an attack or hatred is subjective and everybody has a different line in the sand

I think if someone said - I believe Daniela is homophobic (because of the above) and therefore I will not support her or Katseye - perfectly valid

If someone said - I believe Daniela is pro Israel and should die - that seems like crossing a line
