Japanese model Harin speaks out about recent surge in public attention
Harin (real name: Harada Rin), a model from Japan, has spoken directly regarding the recent surge in public interest surrounding her.
On August 14, Harin posted a message on her YouTube community page, beginning with:
“I’m thankful for the sudden attention I’ve been receiving lately, though I admit I’m also a bit concerned.”
Recently, Harin appeared on the YouTube channel of Japanese actor Takeda Hiromitsu, where she shared various stories about her life in Korea. During the conversation, she revealed that she was once a K-pop idol trainee.
Born in 2003, Harin was originally a member of the Japanese idol group Shibu3 Project. In 2020, she passed an audition held by Source Music, a label under HYBE, and joined the company. She later transferred to ADOR and was part of the debut lineup for NewJeans.
However, Harin stated:
“Right before debut, the company suddenly made a decision that forced me to give up on my dream of becoming an idol. One day, they suddenly told me to terminate my contract. I was the only one told to ‘leave,’ and I had to get on a flight home immediately.”
Following this revelation, Harin’s YouTube and social media channels received a wave of attention, including a number of malicious comments, prompting her to release a formal statement.
She emphasized:
“What I shared in the interview was nothing more than a very personal story of past disappointment and frustration. I had no intention of criticizing or exposing any particular company or individual.”
She continued:
“It was certainly a difficult time for me, but it was also a meaningful opportunity that helped me grow stronger. I’m still cheering for the members with whom I laughed and cried back then.”
Finally, Harin added:
“Though I still have a lot to improve, I’ll keep working hard to show you a better version of myself. Just as autumn always follows summer no matter how hot it gets, I’ll continue to be the unchanging Harin. I ask for your continued support.”
Meanwhile, Harin has since transitioned into a career as a model and actress, and continues to actively pursue opportunities in those fields.
