I think the marketing and hype for it wasn't that good. I think waiting a year for this song didn't help. I don't think she has the luxury to make fans wait that long for a song. Hopefully her next comeback isn't that long of a break. I enjoy the song, but I don't think it's strong enough to have legs like fast forward

Yes, Somi has always made fans wait for 1+ years, but there was little promo (Youtube/variety is best for Somi) this time and the prerelease didn't have enough impact. Somi described Extra as a chill song that she chose as a prerelease as a taste of the album. It was a song that would have been a great b-side on her previous albums.
The other two potential singles (one is the Title Track) she described as more "epic", so I assume energy like XOXO, Dumb Dumb, or Fast Forward (produced by TBL I assume, whereas Extra wasn't).
Even with a solid TT, they need to get her on more variety/Youtube programs leading up to the single.
