Well... I was watching an episode of a kdrama, and one part of that episode had that trope.
That trope that is kinda like:
Suji used to be dating Jinyoung, but then she finds out that he had been cheating on her with a "prettier" woman.
Then they broke up.
"The reason why I cheated on you is because you're so plain. When do you ever wear makeup or wear pretty clothes?"
She is heartbroken.
Later she gets a makeover and starts dressing well.
One day, Jinyoung sees her again with a new haircut, makeup and fancy clothes.
"Oh my goodness." he says. "Suji, is that you? I almost didn't recognize you."
"Yes, it's me" she responds as she flips her hair.
"Oh, I'm so sorry for saying that you're plain. Will you be my girlfriend again?"
"Well, if you didn't love me, when I was plain, you don't deserve me, now I'm prettier."
Then she walks away from him like a boss.
Yup, I ended up writing a fanfic lol
I have noticed that trope in some kdramas and kpop music videos.
Even though there are similar tropes in some other medias.
