When most international kpop fans were the weeaboo/otaku/"quirky" type ppl, instead of "normies" .... I can't find the exact word .... I know weeaboo/otaku is for anime/manga/Japan culture, but I'm talking about being "otaku" for kpop, instead of anime/manga (these ppl don't necessarily come from the anime fandom) .... 2020 onwards, it feels that kpop is more catered to international/Western "normies"
