Yes we all know there's a lot to be criticized about Jimin but it's quite an interesting phenomenon when there are members like V or Jin who are equally as mediocre when it comes to musicality or members like Jungkook who is performing less than mediocre music despite being the more talented one and yet they are not talked about as much as Jimin.
I think it's actually just misogyny. Jimin faces both homophobia and misogyny because of the way he presents his masculinity but that's a discussion for another day.
V's aesthetics are inspired from jazz and while that's all very ~fancy and "unique" the music he releases is quite mediocre especially from the standards of the genre. In fact I will argue RM is everything V wants to be or Baekhyun when it comes to vocal ability but he is not talented enough to be as experimental as RM. The problem with RM is that kpop fans don't find him attractive so they don't care about him.
I don't really have anything to say about Jin other than that he is limited in his talents and is sticking to what he does the best. Happy music is not my thing but I guess kudos to him for doing something other than ballads. I suppose he could try to have a discography like Park Hyoshin or Park Jiyoon but he is an idol and it would be boring for his fans.
Jungkook. Well. He should sing R&B but he likes his top 40 English pop a little too much and that makes him infinitely more uninteresting. We already have an Ed Sheeran and we don't want another one. Dean is who this guy should be trying to be like if he has to be like another artist in the first place.
This might sound weird but I'd like to see Jimin do hyperpop or electronic noise style music. Just go full whack. Screw the stans and whether they hate. Hit up A.G Cook and do something cool. It will suit his vocals too. It wouldn't strain his voice and he has the charisma to carry off the aesthetics of hyperpop too.
