Dividends collected by Korean moguls - and a nonKPop singer

    (In Korean)

The number in the next to last column is the dividends the moguls claimed in millions of KRW.

For example, #1, Jay Lee of Samsung, was paid 346,583 million KRW of dividends. Make it 346 billion KRW, or $240 million.

#2 Chung Mongkoo, owner of Hyundai Motors, 189B KRW=$132m.

(I will only show USD figures for the others)

#3 Chung Eui-sun, son of the above, Hyundai Motors, $121m

#4 Lee Boojin, sister of Jay Lee, $103m

#5 is the mother of Jay Lee

#6 is another sister of Jay Lee

#7 Choi Taewon, owner of SK Group, $63.5m

#8 Koo Kwangmo, owner of LG Group, $54m

#9 Chung Mongjoon, a brother of #2 and owner of Hyundai Heavy Industries, $53m

#10 Kim Namho, owner of DB Group, an insurance company, $30m

#11 Lee Jaehyun, owner of CJ, $26m

    #12, Choi Giwon, a relative of #7, $23.5m , 33.7 billion KRW

    I stop here.

From other sources, I learned that Bang Sihyuk, the owner of Hybe Entertainment, was paid a dividend of about 2.6 billion KRW, or about $1,8 million.

Park Jinyoung, owner of JYP Entertainment, would be paid a dividend of 2.9 billion KRW, or about $2 million.

Yang Hyunsuk of YG Entertainment would be paid about 900m KRW, or $630,000.

A discussion of such topic is not complete without discussing Edam Entertainment.

Edam Entertainment's minority owner, Lee Jieun, was paid 33.6 billion KRW, or $23.4 million.

Although all these moguls own lots of stocks and Lee Jieun's stocks are only valued around $30 million, all of them held in Edam Entertainment plus an unknown amount of non-trading stocks in Kakao Entertainment,

Lee Jieun was paid a dividend equal or more than most of Korea's moguls, and only the owners of Samsung, Hyundai, SK , LG and and an insurance company was paid more dividend than the 32-years old (actually 1,352 years old) stockholder.

It cannot be denied now that other than company owners themselves, the person who made the most money from KPop is Lee Jieun, and since Bang only gets a dividend of $1.8 million, the dividends the individual BTS member collect from their minuscule amount of shares would be less than what Lee Jieun is paid every day.
