As far I know about him he worked together with JO1's Ren as background dancer before and is a close friend to Ren. Since Masaya centered the theme-song like his friend Ren did in the season before it would be kinda shook if Masaya would also rank very high and than make it to the final group .
On a popularity-ranking website for Asian survival shows he is curently voted by 821 people as the #4 most popular participant and in overall the #14th most popular today after a lot I-land participants and 2 participants of Produce 101 Japan season 2. Since the Themesong for season 2 was released he also grew in popularity on this website and got 4 ranks up inside Produce and 4 ranks for the total of Asian survival shows.
