Inkigayo performances are pre recorded!

  • I didn’t know that! I wondered how they always got the props to match the comebacks

So they pre record these performance without crowds and all props then the group/idol performs in front of the crowd with their pre record playing on screen!

  • I thought everyone knew this. Music shows are never shown live anymore. They haven't been in many years. One of them let a person get buck naked on-stage during a punk band's performance back in the early 2000s and that was the end of that.

The most comon complaint about music shows is that the artists have to get up at the crack of dawn to record them.

They do have fans in attendance. Each group brings in up to 200 fans usually through weverse for their recording sessions. Then during the live broadcast there are another group of fans that come in and watch the interviews and final live stage live as well as the pre-recorded content on a screen. Some groups come out on stage while their recording is playing on TV and sing along or just have fun with the live crowd as well.

This is what the prerecording looks like, there is a crowd but it's usually fans of the group unlike the actual live airing. The prerecording starts extremely early and they film for a very long time to get through all groups, that's why you often see idols sleeping in behind the scenes footage.
