Winner's Song Min-ho, who was embroiled in controversy over his lax military service, has finally been transferred to the suspect.
On the 26th, Mapo Police Station recently received an investigation request from the Military Manpower Administration and filed a case against Song Min-ho as a suspect.
The police will review the contents of the investigation request from the Military Manpower Administration and determine whether Song Min-ho violated the Military Service Act.
It has been reported that the Military Manpower Administration's position is that if the police investigation confirms that Song Min-ho had a problem with his attitude toward service, even if he was discharged, the discharge order should be canceled and he should be re-enlisted for the period of the problem.
A Military Manpower Administration official said, "Since the police investigation is more accurate, the Military Manpower Administration will not conduct its own investigation."
Previously, Dispatch reported on the 17th that Song Min-ho did not work properly at the Mapo Community Service Facility in Seoul where he was serving. Afterwards, on the 23rd, through interviews with public service workers and employees who worked with him, additional suspicions of lax work were raised, such as "even when he came, he would just lie down and play games." Regarding this, YG Entertainment, the agency, stated, "It is difficult to confirm the details related to the artist's service," and denied the suspicions, saying, "However, the reason for the sick leave was an extension of the treatment he was receiving before his service, and all other vacations were used according to regulations."
Afterwards, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon ordered an 'Emergency Comprehensive Investigation into the Status of Social Service Workers' targeting the Seoul Metropolitan Government and its affiliated organizations," and ordered a comprehensive investigation, saying, "We will take strict measures based on the results of the investigation, and if necessary, we will suggest to the Military Manpower Administration improvements to the system for fair military service obligations." In addition, SBS's current affairs program 'Curious Story Y' said, "We are waiting for reports from those who know about or witnessed the poor service of celebrities who are serving alternatively," raising interest in whether the controversy will spread to the entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Song Min-ho was discharged on the 23rd and was criticized for not showing up for work on the day of his discharge.
