The Seoul Mapo Police Station announced on the 31st that they have received a report and initiated a preliminary investigation into famous rapper A (39) for allegedly ass**lting a passerby.
According to the police, A is reported to have assaulted a passerby using a cellphone and other objects around 8:30 PM on the 28th at a park underpass in Mapo District, after telling the passerby to "properly lead the bicycle." The victim is said to have sustained a cut near the eye and some damage to their teeth.
Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene, conducted a basic investigation with both A and the victim, and then released them.
A police official stated, "We will decide whether to formally book the case based on the preliminary investigation, and if booked, an investigation of the suspect will proceed."
Yonhap News attempted to contact A for his stance but was unable to reach him.
A was recruited by a famous entertainment agency in 2008 and made his debut in the music industry with a song in 2010. He later appeared as a producer on the popular audition program "Show Me the Money."
