It's good that they recognized their mistake.

Without the joke about not being able to see him in the dark I didn’t think it was that bad. Commenting about skin color and tanning being bad maybe taboo in some places but I feel like culturally Asians will not stop doing it.

However what pushes this joke into colorism is the joke that followed after that stating that they can’t see him in the dark. It‘s most definitely hurtful to hear such phrases and I’m sure they have many dark skinned fans who will be hurt by these type of “jokes”

Your friend may not take offense to jokes on their body and skin color but when something is broadcast you need to be more cognizant that your fans are hearing the same jokes and it’s not a private conversation.
