First of all, kpop has helped increase Asian representation and exposure in the media. At the same time this has no direct significance to the dating success of Asian males. Yes, there are people who fetishize Asians, and they will end up going to Korea to try to date them. But there's absolutely no reason for these people to expect kpop to make them into highly sought after dating partners just because of their race. It's yet another form of incel entitlement. So while browsing reddit I found a group of incels upset kpop isn't "working out" for them as they thought, while also putting down male idols for their perceived lack of masculinity.
