  • It should be alarming that Kakao is acquiring all these K-pop companies and online-based media entities-- doing so to manipulate and perpetuate socalled stories and headlines to denigrate their competition; i.e, perpetuating that bullying scandal of Garam, formerly from Le Sserafim, while pushing its vested interests of groups like IVE (a subsidiary of Kakao acquiring 70% of shares in Starship) and artists like IU. Social media and popular online sites like our very allkpop.com and korea-boo were complicit-- directly or indirectly, in Kakao's maneuverings

  • yes.

It really is concerning and Kpop in general should be worried that this is somehow becoming the norm.- because it's not only Kakao - but SM, HYBE and other agencies that seem to be in bed with media companies to garner popular opinion.

this is an issue because KPOP is supposed to be an escape from the shitty things that happens around us in the real world - IT'S SUPPOSE TO ENTERTAIN US .. not depress us. But lately the kpop world seems to be no better than world politics, with each side using money and underhanded tactics to "gain" your interest and attention.

This path can only lead to the destruction for the industry. if pple are no longer entertained.. by entertainment, then it's it's not entertainment at all, they go elsewhere to seek that entertainment.

or this might just reflect articles on ALLkpop. this site creates more kpop drama than any other kpop outlets, and staying here seems to be giving this impression. cus this site wants fans to come and fight for their favs and constantly report on the "dark side" of kpop as if that's "groundbreaking". but there's only so much that your average fan can defend, and only so much drama your mind can take.

we eventually cut this off when it gets too much, and leave this behind, and resent we ever were invested our time here in the first place. we have enough stress and worry in the real world as it is.

if that illusion of "entertainment" breaks as these kpop agencies and media companies are desperately trying to be "taken more seriously" - they're only shooting themselves on the foot, so yes.. the KPOP world SHOULD be very concerned, and take lessons from Disney on how to cover up your shady tactics to keep that illusion in tact
