What's with all these year-end award shows having three winners for New Artist of the Year award?

What a cop-out. Stupid participation-trophy mentality, and we're-not-supposed-to-offend-anybody mentality. So we're not supposed to award anybody according to merit?... And I know it's about getting more groups to attend their shows, but whatever little prestige their little award hand-outs had left is gone. Good riddance; dumb political correctness ruins everything. Might as well not give out awards; everything is just so stupid nowadays.
