What leads to Case 143 (Skz) digital underperformance?

  • The song comes and goes and does worse on streaming than their last comeback. What went wrong?

  • There isn't any mystery about, I guess. It was less interesting than Maniac to casuals. And 'underperforming' in comparison to a previous comeback happens to every act here and there until they release another appealing song again.

It's doing better than any of their previous releases' first month minus Maniac on Spotify. What is a good point. They usually have a good long run too.

But I need to mention, I'm specially surprised about It's japanese performance on AM/Spotify/YT, better than any of their other releases digitally and only behind Hot and Yet To Come from bgs this year by a fair margin.

  • Bb200 and you floppy?

BB200 = fandom sales. People who buy albums aren't actually listening to physical CDs. No one does in this day and age.

Digitals = people actually listening. The song is flopping digitally.

I believe the song isn't international fans and casual listeners cup of tea compared to maniac but Japanese people liked the song and I know I'd sound like I'm stereotyping but it seems like many Japanese people are into cute and colorful songs. This song might have widen their Japanese fanbase like maniac did with Chinese fanbase and god's menu did with western fanbase.

  • It’s the song duh. The song this time is brighter than their usual title tracks. Stays and casuals prob prefer their typical hard hitting bg songs. I’m curious if they’ll stick with this brighter concept or go back to their usual hard hitting style.

  • cause only their fandom really listen to their song. no gp support.

Their Spotify streams very high you think their fandom alone can pull off that many streams? Not to mention they have high monthly streams and their bsides usually have almost high streams as their title tracks. Fandom can't pull off all of that streams alone if casual listeners didn't join. Stays even find antis who hate on skz's music secretly have their songs in their public playlist lol.

    Look at monthly listeners

  • Their old sound was cool. This song sounds like every other bg. Could be a TXT or Enhypen or Treasure song.
