Why couldn't Nayeon revive Twice career?

I was told after Nayeon achieved decent success with Pop, which fair, no one expected after Twice's digital flopping for years, that she would be able to revive the public's interest in Twice and Twice would smash with TTT. They even released the songs in a 2 months interval to sustain the hype and transfer Nayeon's newly found success back to Twice, but this didn't happen. Why?

I don't like Twice and I like to laugh at onces crying and coping here, but the whole excuse about the song being bad is dumb. The song is fine, people just do not care about those 9 girls anymore
