Girls underperformed big time. it was probably a big shock to sm considering the hype from they thought they got from american appearances. didn't work out that way. having them come back too early and have their next song tank would look really bad and might really damage their rep.
SM also thought aespa had the 4th gen gg throne in the bag but there are now many other ggs challenging them. SM wants to lay low until things hopefully cool down and they have a better chance to evaluate things.
don't be surprised if aespa comes back with a toned down concept and temporarily ditch the ai and kwanga concept. theyre also going to get accused of copying when the public realizes how similar their new concept looks to a rookie gg.
any mys who say theyre not worried are lying a little. they know the new ggs can challenge aespa.
