don't get triggered guys lmao (i mean what i said 200% but i have flawless reasoning for it lol)
alright it's been fucking with my head so much seeing threads about Ghosting so i'm gonna make a thread about a superior ghostin.
the production in this song is fucking amazing, i love ariana grande (i actually was able to meet her on tour!) and usually her music is never this deep, so this was nice to see for a change.
this song, while it may not seem that deep on the surface, is so. fucking. sad.
it's about how she felt being in another relationship while still grieving the death of Mac Miller because she was still in love with him.
it's basically her apology to pete davidson.
she says she should be "ghostin" him, (ghosting her feelings for him) but it's a play on words because to her, he's a ghost...
i don't know if it's because i can relate or what, but holy shit, this song is so goddamn sad.
the fucking violins and the buildup in this song are fucking unbelievable.
and the way it fades out at the end, like a ghost leaving/a spiritual presence leaving you? it's really tear inducing everytime.
"he just comes to visit me when i'm dreaming every now and then"
also the fact that around 4:02 you can hear a recording of Mac saying "I love you Ariana"
there's something about your soulmate being dead that's just soul crushing.
this song is so fucking gorgeous.
