Not a single SM group nominated for VMA?

Does VMA have some kind of beef with SM groups? JYP got 3 groups nominated. I understand why Twice and Stray Kids are nominated. Not to drag Itzy but don’t get get why Itzy is nominated instead of an SM group like NCT. NCT definitely has a bigger fandom in the west compared to Itzy.

itzy music is more appealing to westerns than aespa or nct let's be real

they nominated BP despite them being inactive for whole 2 years. what makes you think other nominations would make sense?

BP still had solo releases + they are more relevant than all of sm combined even in hiatus
