genuine question but i always see people say that blackpink isnt popular in korea but theyre literally the only other group (with bts) that lives rent free in knetizens heads. even during their haituses, every week there will be a trending post on atleast one of the pinks and there seems to be equal hype to international hype every time the pinks comeback. so how are they not popular there?

this, plus they don't really cater to korea that much other than brand deals. mostly promoting overseas. how many times have they flewn out of korea for gigs outside.

not everyone. Kids, maybe, then young teenagers/young people/not all ofc adults? Yes. Not everyone. The only girl group that had that kind of recognition were basically living in tv, had a hit drama with 40% rating that made everyone know that one member and had actual national hits that made everyone know each member. No one topped Snsd till this day.
Bp will have to guest and go viral on very famous shows like Yu Jae Suk's or have a hit drama with 30-40% ratings to make every auntie and granny recognize your face or have a Gee level hit.
