Encountering delusional stand online is one thing, but meeting one in real life is something else. For me, there was this girl who was a fan of two boy groups. IDK which is the one with Jackson in it but she was a huge Jackson stan. This was during the Hong Kong protests, basically, a bunch of Chinese celebrities kept posting one china propaganda Jackson among them. I pointed out how shitty it was of him to publicly endorse the CCP.
This girl turned to me and said "OldJeans you don't know, the Chinese government is threatening him. They have a gun to his head" She literally believes that the Chinese government was threatening Jackson with a gun to his head to make him endorse the CCP. She keet trying to make me believe it too, swearing that was happening.
My second encounter wasn't a kpop stan but the same thing. So she was a Fifth harmony fan and a huge Camilla/Lauren shipper, she kept trying to convince me that they were in love and their management was keeping them apart. This was when Camilla and Shawn Mendes were dating, also this was after Lauren publicly came out as Bi and spoke against Camilla/Lauren shippers saying the shipping negatively impacted her. And still, even after all of this, the girl kept saying that the management kept them apart, that they were in love. This was a girl in her early 20s btw.
