why does mark from nct put on a fake accent when he raps?

    I noticed when he raps in English he has this NY Brooklyn accent but when he is speaking it's just a typical Canadian one?

    Does he do this on purpose?

    maybe he does to give a certain effect on the song, I hear a different tone, not much of an accent though.
