Do fanbases have an obligation to support every member's solo work?

IMO, no. These are GROUP fanbases, i.e they exist to support group activities. I don't think they necessarily have to support solo activities, especially if it's the solo activities of a member they don't particularly care about. And it is possible to love a group but not really care for some of the members, as long as you're not actively hating on them. But it does look weird to support one member but not the others - I think it should be all or none

So many fanbases from different fandoms get dragged for not supporting all the members "equally" , I feel like it would be a lot less messy if they didn't bother tweeting about any solos at all

I think they do. Their job is to promote the group's work, including solos, just like the labels.

if they are fanbases for the whole group then yes they do as long as the member is still officially part of the group.

No. Especially if you're a solo stan (like me) or an akgae.

If they advertise themselves as a group account/group fanbase but don't promote every member both as a group and as soloists, are they really a group account? or are they a solo account that just shares group stuff because their faves are in it?

If you're talking about those fan accounts/pages that provide translations or updates, then yeah I believe it's in their responsibility.

But if you're talking about just a general fan, then no. No one is "obligated" to support anything. You're just a fan, no one is gatekeeping you or forcing you to do anything. As long as you're not actively hating or doing harm to anyone then all is good and well.

Interesting question. I think yes. If they are the groups fanbase, it might not be a group activity but the member is still part of that group. They don’t need to listen/buy if they don’t want but do show support for that member.

it wouldn’t be me lol I like every member of the group I Stan. That’s why I Stan them. If I don’t like a member or I favor one member alone I’m not gonna spend time on the group. Simple as that.
