Both were criticised for their lack of visuals, but both are really good talented dancers. Both aren't exactly the strongest vocalists, nor are they known for their variety skills (although Hyoyeon is actually pretty good at variety, but its not her "signature" thing if you get what I mean). I would argue both are overshadowed by more popular members in their respective groups. There are a lot of similarities in both of them. Many people compare Chaeyeon to Chungha just because they were both from Produce groups, but Hyoyeon is a much better comparison imo. Chungha was a lot more popular (she finished 4th in her season of PD101 vs Chaeyeon's 12th) and was a much more recognised vocalist (had almost all the lines in IOI's subunit OST).
While Hyoyeon isn't the biggest name solo artist, but she's done decently enough, and has appeared on a bunch of shows, or contestants in Hit the Stage, and Good Girl. Lee Chaeyeon does not have the a big company backing like SM and SNSD is arguably the most successful girl group of all time, but Iz*One is decently well-known enough and Chaeyeon was made known from SWF. I believe she can emulate the career path that was set precedent by Hyoyeon.
