2NE1 more Melon streams than SNSD. Are you shocked?

    Total Melon streams of 2nd gen girl group. 2NE1 outstreams SNSD even with smaller discography. Is this a reflection of Teddy’s “quantity over quality” philosophy? Are you shocked that their Melon streams are so high despite their music being forgotten mostly now?

    I always knew their individual songs had higher streams than snsd but to have their whole discography higher than all of snsd's is quite amazing considering that they only have a handful of songs like bp.

    Not surprised. SM acts are not really strong digitally. They have strong fandoms hence the great album sales

    Snsd song have bigger impact but overall 2ne1 have good charting songs in their career.

    thought there would be a big gap.. it is close tho but SNSD also got physical sales.

    In 2nd gen era, YG groups like Big Bang and 2NE1 were known as digital monsters where not only their title tracks would chart well but also their non-title tracks.

    Also true. SNSD were very active in the first half of 2nd gen era, but less so in the second half when streaming become more popular: after 2011 SNSD only had 3 group comebacks in SK in 6 years.
