your honest thoughts about HYBE's statement

  • it seems plausible but many don't believe it calling it a "wattpad story".

what are your thoughts? do you think there's an (even slight) chance garam being innocent or do you find the essay a complete bs?

  • Doesn't the statement admit that she did commit school violence but tried to make it sound like she was justified in doing it? So either way she is guilty.

The person who made the allegations said she was going to go to court if hybe tried to make her the perpetrator again so things may get messier.

  • it's funny people easily believe the victim but not garam. From hybe's statement, the victim was the messed up one for posting other people nudes on social media but people are still proclaiming garam as the bully who committed violence.

  • it's bullsht.

A girl won't attempato suicide because of some curses.

There's many people coming forward saying they've got proof of what she did, even showing their name online, and source still tried to downplay what the girl did.

Who would get such a punishment as a result of a girl trying to defend a friend.

And the worse is that they tried to give all the blame to the victim.

Tbh I've never been more disgusted by a kpop company

  • no opinion since we don't know the full truth but it's fun watching people switching sides back and forth. tmr there might be another statement from the victim's side and people will jump ship again. the circus will continue until they go to court i believe.

Yeah the school violence that she committed is verbal fighting the victim because she posted nudes of her friend.

She didn't attempt suicide because of what garam did in middle school but because people expose her identity and attack her online.

  • I think Hybe's statement makes sense considering their previous stance which they did stick to.

People are quite hilarious because they gonna attack Hybe's statement but what about the law firm? Do you guys think a law firm is less shadier than a big company? Lawyers manipulate and deceive jurys and medias for their clients' best interests. It is literally their job.

Apply your critical thinking to both statements instead of being one-sided gullible joes.

  • it doesn't make sense and they have provided no proofs to back it up. I'm supposed to believe Garam was some innocent soul who took only part in the school violence to stand up for a friend but somehow everyone else but her was not punished? It's just pure he said she said from HYBE and they don't even have any evidence either to support their claim.

  • I find it very hard to believe that a school would out of nowhere slap a student with a restraining order just on the say-so of one student. This still seems very much like their one and only source is Garam herself. As of now, there is legal paperwork, multiple statements, photos and texts (verified by a news channel) on one side, and "I said it so I meant it" on the other.

There's a very simplified manner of thinking about this stuff. "Wait, you say the victim may not be the most innocent person to ever live? It's done. Drop the whole thing." You can be an imperfect person and have bad stuff happen to you. And I count Garam in that too.

One side is saying, "Dude, just trust me" and the other is saying, "Here's my proof". Critical thinking would say the person who is backing up their words with verified evidence would be more credible than the side that has, so far, provided no proof...

  • I only vaguely know about the back and forth in all this. But the only thing I think is that it's fucked up that you should give up your dreams because of mistakes you made as a child. I'm just curious, is being an idol in Asian culture supposed to mean you're perfect? It just feels like a lot to live up to for anyone.

  • Hybe is doubling down so I expect the law firm to release more details of the violence report including the exact actions that Garam did to earn the level 5 ruling.

I think it's suspicious only Garam and someone else would be punished so harshly if supposedly they didn't perform any physical violence and they were reacting to someone else leaking nudes. I'll wait to see more details tho.

True lol her life is over because a thing she did when she's 12?

  • OK first, I am not in either side of this story, I just don't blindly believe all allegations. There have been countless allegations made against people that have been proven false. I don't think any company as big as Hybe would be protecting Garam without some sort of evidence to back up their position. I don't believe they would just take her word and push the narrative so much without proof. (if so, they are really stupid and need better attorneys) There is no way they don't have their own lawyers on this case and are remaining quite tight lipped about this case publicly because it involves minors and the possibility of pictures of an underage child. They are waiting to take this to court and will release their evidence then. Releasing certain information to the public regarding an ongoing legal matter is not in their best interest and could hurt their case in the long run. The public is on a witch hunt after hybe because of how they have handled this and because of the serious nature of these allegations and the prevelance of school bullying in Korea. Of course hybe could have responded sooner to the other side but maybe they did and it's just not Public knowledge. I haven't followed this case super closely so correct me, but is there any legal documentation proof that they contacted hybe previously that hybe ignored? Or is all of this stemming from the victim story or her lawyers story? Any proof that the people pushing all information are not the victims friends/family that may be biased? According to hybes statement the victim and friends harassed her as well. How do you know they are not being spiteful and trying to bully garam to ruin any chance of her having a career. These are teenagers we are talking about. As for the suicide attempt, is there any documentation other than Word of mouth from victim or their friends/family. This whole case seems like a she said/they said situation. The only legal proof is the school violence information that wasn't released in full. This is not to say that Garam is innocent in anyway. She definitely responded with bullying the victim back which is enough to ruin her career in this field forever, but only that she may not be the only bully in this case. I do believe hybe should have put garam on hiatus long before until the proceedings were finalized to avoid the aggressive backlash she and the company received. As for the public apology, if hybe is planning on fighting this in court an apology of garam confessing to bullying and apologizing to the victim will hurt their case in court because that will be used against her. As for the victim hiring a lawyer anyone can lawyer up and lawyers will use scare tactics in order to try and get people to settle so they win their case. The public has always been into gossip and ready to attack and cancel anyone that has had allegations made against them especially in sensitive matters like this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'll wait for the court case to see the full story be revealed. If it turns out that garam is the bully and in the wrong then there will be major consequences for hybe and herself and that will impact all their artists in the future since they will lose the public trust forever. I do feel really bad for the rest of garams group since they are unable to enjoy their debut and it might be over before they had a chance to shine.

Their proof is the same document though. So just wait and see, how hard is that.

Hybe said there was no physical violence and that the naked pic incident is mentioned on the committee notification. Granted they didn't show anything but neither has the opposite side. No one has revealed the full document yet; however it's a key piece to formulate an educated opinion.

not being a bully is not being perfect but the bare minimum

idk about you but when I was 12 I was not doing shit like this lmao

So their proof is that she did do it...

Hybe has a vested interest in clearing her name. They're doing it because they sunk money into her training and preparing her to debut, they're not defending her out of the goodness of their heart.

The other side has more than just that one document as proof...

Of course more evidence could change things but if you're asking people to think critically, the critical person would believe the evidence not the words.
