Moonbin (문빈) is a South Korean singer, actor, and model signed under Fantagio Entertainment. He is currently the main dancer, lead vocalist, and center of the boy group Astro.
I. Pre-Debut
Moonbin was born on January 26, 1998 in Cheongju, Chungbuk , South Korea. His mother encouraged him to begin working as a child model in 2004 and he made his first appearance in the music video for TVXQ's "Balloons" playing a small version of U-Know Yunho. In 2009, he had his first acting role in the extremely popular Korean drama Boys Over Flowers playing the younger version of Kim Bum's character.
When he was in the fifth grade, he became a trainee of Fantagio and participated in the predebut project group iTeen. Prior to his debut with Astro, he appeared alongside the rest of the members in the web drama To Be Continued.
II. Career
Moonbin officially debuted as a member of Astro on February 23, 2016. On September 7, 2018, Moonbin was announced to be part of The Ultimate Watchlist of Latest Trends for the first two seasons. On January 17, 2019, Moonbin was case in the drama Moments of Eighteen. In November of that year, it was announced that due to health issues, he would be absent from promotions for the Blue Flame EP.
On February 14, 2020 Moonbin officially returned to promotions and on March 4, he was announced to be the new MC of Show Champion alongside fellow Astro member Sanha and Verivery's Kangmin. On March 12, it was announced that he would play the lead role in the web drama The Mermaid Prince.
In September 2020, Moonbin was announced as one of Nerdy Cafe's models. On September 14, Moonbin and Sanha debuted as Astro's first subunit with the release of the EP, In-Out.
On September 3, 2021 Neikidnis revealed that it has selected Moonbin as their first muse. In December it was announced that Moonbin would be joining the cast of Saturday Night Live Korea with his first episode scheduled to air on December 25.
