for all the ppl with low confidence in their looks

it's a good song with a good message overall

is it a bit shallow though? or is it just me being cynical and jealous that i'm not as good looking as LUCY members? or did i maybe misinterpret the type of appearance they're talking about?

    Fun song!

I get what you mean but I think low confidence and low self-esteem can affect anyone. You'd think someone has nothing to worry about because they are conventionally attractive, but a sick mind will find things to nitpick and tie it to the person's self-worth.

You're never perfect and once you're in a spiral, the brain will make a mountain out of a mole hill aka a small imperfection.

Where I disagree with the MV though is that getting in a relationship fixes things. It can give a confidence boost, sure. But if you're really sick, the brain will think people complimenting you, are lying to you, that a partner is lowering their standards to be with you etc.

It's a theme in pop culture where relationships magically fix a person. They don't. Depending on your issues, nothing changes and the relationship will be destroyed sooner rather than later.

So, yeah, I do think the storyline of the MV is a bit shallow.

Interesting topic though and the song is a bop.

If someone from Brazil is reading this, here are a few tips:

    - This Nitter instance still works (but sadly might not forever) https://nitter.poast.org/

Nitter is a privacy-oriented, open source, frontend for Twitter to display its content without an account. No installation needed, no app, no account. I am not sure if it would be affected by the local ban but give it a shot. However, you need to know the username you are looking for. Twitter has been cracking down on these type of front ends for a while, but they always pop back up.

    - Do not use free VPNs, they sell your data and that's a risk considering they said they'd fine VPN users.

    - ProtonVPN is considered one of the best privacy oriented VPNs (as far as I know). The free version is very limited (no streaming, no server host choice), so only the paid version might be safe to use.

    - For extra anonymity, look into the TOR browser as it masks your IP address. But a non-privacy oriented VPN might sell you out, so be really careful about your choice of VPN.

I am an amateur in this area, so if other users have corrections or more tips, please share.

    I appreciate this. :)

That seems so fun and cozy. What food did you decide on? I also like visiting an Asian supermarket to pick up food and drinks, bringing them back to enjoy. It doesn't seem like much, but it's enjoyable and meaningful to me. It's a bit like "slice of life" anime, I'd say.

I look forward to doing more things like that this coming fall.

I am making buckwheat noodles with veggies, got some gochujang for the chicken, seaweed flakes and sesame seeds as toppings.
I felt the "slice of life" part when I got those fish-shaped taiyaki a couple of weeks ago. If you've never tasted them, can highly recommend.

I wish you all the luck on this Earth to pass your law school exam!!! That is super stressful. Do not give up yet!

I'm travelling now and it's pretty much still summer in this part of Europe, but as soon as I'm back home I will do a fall cleaning of my apartment.

In autumn I always like to do a short trip somewhere cozy too so I also booked a weekend trip to Poland with my family.

I also always do a deep clean in autumn!
Yeah, it's pretty much still summer here too but I love fall, so I'm just not going to look at the temperature while I indulge in my spooky season reading :smirks2:
    Enjoy your travels!

This thread was inspired by superyeah .

Tomorrow is the meteorological start of autumn. If you mark the seasons by the astronomical calendar, then ignore this thread for three more weeks and let the rest of us have their fun :p

So, do you have any plans? Themed books to read? Movies to watch? Games to play? Are you planning on doing certain activities? Are there specific foods you look forward to?

Here is my "to do" list for fall:

    - read "Hangsaman" and "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson
    - watch "Over the Garden Wall"
    - go on a hike and see the colored leaves
    - I want to start crocheting, so I have a video saved of a tutorial to make my first granny square
    - there are a few foods I like to make in autumn: squash lasagna, roasted chestnuts and apple sauce
    - eat lots and lots of soup

    Happy birthday, Jungkook :pepelove1:

This is such a wholesome thing to do! I'd do the same, but I have no energy to prepare much food for the time being.

I've done similar things to celebrate idols' birthdays and group anniversaries before, though! It's always a great time.

Whatever it is you're struggling with, mentally or physically, I hope you feel better soon! And maybe you can enjoy a moment that doesn't require a lot of effort, like a cup of tea. :)

This the third year of me doing this :woow: We only recently got an Asian supermarket, so it's the perfect occasion to try new things.
