I've been into k-pop since 2011,spontaneously got out of it last year and only recently did I start following it again.

Not necessarily.
Look at groups like A Pink who kept the same sound for years until finally switching it up with I'm So Sick.In fact,some people prefer groups who stick to a sound instead of doing something different every time.
There's a market for everything,and everyone.

I don't think having lore can or should be trademarked.Unless the actual story and/or the visual presentation are too similar,which is another story.
