and people need to understand this. Companies pay to perform (or better word- promote) your songs on music shows.
What's the reasons the big companies want to spend so much on promoting the songs when they are already doing well. The performance slots should be left to those groups that really need it.
The new fans might not even understand the pain of having your nugu/newbie fave promoting a 2minute version of song on music shows when back then the industry was super crowded (2012-2015) with all the popular groups hogging the slots by singing few songs per comeback.
I rather have the popular acts just perform for 1 or 2 weeks and then leave the slots for the needy.
there are music shows that are attendance awards like the show and mcountdown(must promote in music shows to win).
And the show trophies have always been looked down because they are attendance awards. Make no sense to include attedance as criteria to win. It will make the music shows lose its credibility to determine the most popular song of the week (same as year end awards)
Gidle is the best all-rounder kpop group in the industry now. They have 3 members who compose/produce songs, 2 main vocal + 3 decent vocalists, best female idol rapper and few good dancers.
Iz*one will be the best selling/most popular female group in korea if not for the scandal. They have so much potential. Basically many aces in a group
But being in SM means more competition to even get to debut. See so many SM rookies dropped out from SM. I think Yuqi made a right choice. Not to say she cant win over the other trainees but, being in smaller agency sometimes has its advantage
because their dance is difficult and intensive + their songs are difficult to sing. It is expected that they focus more on performance than vocal. Their encore stage basically showed that they can sing anyway.

This explain why melon UL sare so low nowadays. with spotify invading korea, expect Melon to drop below 30% and soon Genie might overtake it. So, dont need to stress so much about melon position.
to be honest, all fans brag about their fave achievement. It appears as 3rd gens fans are bragging more, that's because 4th gens fans dont have much to brag anyway as 3rd gens still dominating in all areas.
i started listening to this song a month ago and im really addicted to it. it's such a bop and i actually feel things when i listen to it. not sure what exactly tho cause it's kind of confusing? it's like sad without really being sad, y'know?
a video i saw described its concept as melancholic: "hits the sweet spot between not being an upbeat song, but still driving enough to not stray into ballad territory" and also nostalgic and moody
any other songs with this concept? or any other beast/highlight songs i might like?
Beast's 12.30, shadow , midnight (my favourite song of them)
how's gidle doing on the chart?
Maybe you would one day understand that you only count the song's performance for each year, therefor PWF numbers are way too divided between years, as most of its current numbers and records come from way after 2017. Therefor, it could be considered a national hit if you don't use any year, but specifically in 2016, i don't think it quite reach the criterias. Its also the same with Spring Day, though it would reach the criteria as the song was much bigger than PWF in the first place.
this is the first time i heard such illogical logic.
We are talking about national hits, not song of the year. They are not confined to respective years. OP is just listing the songs by year of release.
Going by your logic, songs that perform very well im one calendar year but forgotten afterwards is considered national hit? Being national hits, the impact should be long lasting. Till today, songs like sorry sorry, gee, i am the best, mister are still remembered.
being a national hit or not is not determined by hitting #1 or PAK because those are relative positions and dependent on competition.
Can refer to gallup survey or total UL to determine the level. For example, AIIYL didnt hit #1 and get PAK but its amazing longevity on the chart and the Uls proved that it is a national hit.
And why 5 only? Where is Nahyun?
I predicted 300k, it is close enough.
Not all fans willing to pay to watch a concert virtually. It is unlike buying a CD where u can get something physical, the concert streaming is a one time thing which many might not support, unlike when u can see them in real life.
onces said youtube views are irrelevant and now they suddenly are?
