Because they couldn't control them to the extend they need to. When you create a project and spend money you want to have control over it. It's better to create a loyal artist from the scratch than to satisfy star requests. Just look at Marvel - Downey Jr, Evans, Hemsworth we're taken on board before their peaks and that way all of them, studio included, earned a lot of money. And it would be cheaper if the project failed. Both Riot and BP have nothing to gain in this collab, the risk is too high.

It's a matter of preference: if something is overrated then something must be underrated. When i got myself into kpop i also was enjoying BP, but when they released HYLT i didn't like it and started to check out other groups. And i was surprised how many great songs are burried because the hype is elsewhere. That's when the overrated/underrated narration comes in. I wouldn't say that Blackpink is overrated, more like overachieving - but i don't have problem with that. If people like them that's fine, i care only about myself in this matter.
There is this thing about music targeted to children and teens: it rarely shows real numbers. Young people have a need of belonging to a group, so they usually choose the winning side. And they fight for it, because it makes them feel appreciated. You can see that trend in everything: in music, sports, television etc. And many young people will jump the trains when the trends change. It always have been and always will be this way.

It's not bad, it has a nice feel in it, but unfortunatelly they went the safe route. It's to close to the BP style even tho it's westernized - they made sure it has to satisfy the Blinks first before going outside, just to make sure it sells. That kinda makes it forgetable for me, even tho i liked it. But i hope it will succeed and will encourage the crew to try something new - Rosé would benefit a lot from a genre change.

I've heard too many self produced "talents" to agree. There is nothing wrong with working with writers and arrangement crew, and if the artists done itself it's only a bonus. But the song has to be good first, not the other way around. Patting their heads and accepting anything just because they self-produced is pitiful and harmful.

It's an extremely stressful, very responsible and propably the most underpaid job there is... But passionable teachers are always needed - not many good ones are left in the education sector, because most talented ones are being taken by more lucrative positions. Good luck! :D

I'm pretty sure that majority of the idols had these type of scandals, bigger or smaller, that were swept under the rug for the greater good (money). We only know what they want us to know, that's why image ruining leaks hit fans so hard.

Out of all solos i'm looking forward to this one the most. I hope she won't rap, because i believe if she succeed she will force BP to expand with their repertoire.
