I’d say Big Bang’s songs were popular with the general public back in the day and still right now but their domestic fandom even at their peak was barely 1/10 of what bangtan has rn. Bangtan covers all “areas” of popularity, reputation, etc. But domestic digital chart wise this can still be debatable.
Internationally, ofc BTS. Duh.

idk with only three new songs and YTC presumably not sent to radio, I dont think this cb is going to be promoted that long? Have a hunch that bangtan members were more focused on individual stuffs since last year (HW2, RM3 esp impending) but what do I know lol.
If JK x CP is a single then I think it will be promoted to radio too? But then all of these are just speculations 🫣

I just have mixed feelings all around. I had a feeling that “new chapter” is going to be more relaxed solo releases (we have hints all around that members are working on their own mixtapes-at least namjoon, hobi, yoongi, taehyung, and jk; wow that’s a lot lol and members started to appear on others’ MV as solos) but there’s no hint when those are going to be released so far.
so it turns out we’re getting new compilation album (i’m still excited for the tracklist curation tho) but cant help to be disappointed bc we only get to hear 3 new tracks. I know there are uncertainties regarding enlistment but if they’re going at all I just want normal album rollout before they go that’s all lmao. Just mixed feelings all around.

Yeah, figured so! Some k-fans posted on pann, indicating some staffs were filming something 2-3 days before the 3rd and 4th LV concerts. Don’t know about new single but I do hope they don’t drop at the same date with Kendrick bc 😅😅

Just informing that when people are exempted, they will have to do 1 month basic training, but then they will have to do public service completed within certain timeframe (total 18 months) BUT they can still work in the process.
Also, some people argue that the govt simply doesnt want to lose their soft power. IF they are exempted, then the govt has determined that their duty is on the international stage spreading the culture of Korea, bc hallyu wave is so important to them. They cant lose the momentum like they did 2013-2014 ish.
Anyway the backlash will definitely be there if they do. That’s okay, all BTS has is their fans in the end, and their fans aren’t going anywhere.

It's not just fans of other groups though, if they are going to extend the duration of military service in the near future while also creating more special exemptions, there will be some bitter backlash from your average korean males who don't even follow any kpop groups.
Yes I agree. Especially bc the new president has proposed on making the enlisting time back to 24 mos so these days the reception towards them getting exempted is poor. But as a fan I’ll just simply trust their choices tbh.
