Whistle is iconic. Also Next Level isn't even an Aespa song, it's just a cover, but it is catchy and I like it.

Seems like it's YG's modus operandi regarding the Pinks since 2017. Make blinks wait and wait and wait until they are foaming at the mouth with anger on social media about delays and lack of communication. Then release a damage control PR message about how immanent said release is.
After some more time passes and anger reaches a boiling point, they finally release a teaser with a tentative date, which temporarily satiates blinks. Then as a final fuck u, one final delay just to troll blinks (which is where we are at now with RS1).
This method has proven very successful regarding Blackpink. Hell, it took 4 years to get a full album, and it has almost sold 1.5 million physical copies, destroying previous GG records. Why would they change what is working for them. Blinks ain't going anywhere and they know it.
The only problem I have with it is the chorus. It's boring, too repetitive and doesn't fit with the rest of the song. Everything else, the verses, pre-chorus and the music arrangement is amazing.
I love that Red Velvet never plays it safe with their title tracks, and Zimzalabim is certainly a big example of that. It's one of the reasons why they'll be remembered long after most cookie-cutter kpop groups are forgotten.
This was my favorite track from 2018, a banger if there ever was one, and barely anyone gave a shit about it. Such a shame as it's so good. Gugudan were stacked with talent and their company wasted it. Definitely didn't help that Jellyfish just concentrated on pushing Sejeong and Mimi front and center. At least Sally has salvaged her career in China.
