Or would it just reduce people into factions; Brats (those still in school) vs Boomers (older than 3rd gen idols); Knetz vs Inetz and/or Asians vs Non-Asians; Female vs. Male?

Good question. But judging by the stuff people spout on platforms like twitter or facebook, often with not only their real name and age, but also their location and even occupation on full display for all the world to see? I seriously doubt it'd serve as much of a deterrent.
I think people would indeed use the information in a way that'd lead more fanwars, not less.
It wouldn't be long before we'd see indepth analyses about things like the median age of fans of certain groups, of how many male fans a group has, which countries they're mostly from... All that information would likely just end up being weaponised and used to try and discredit groups and fandoms.

Maybe less fanwars, but more drags based on your demographic.
Kids vs Boomers, stereotyping based on race/country etc

I think it would be a huge deterrent, most people say the nasty disgusting things they do because there is no fear of repercussion.
Just think about this forum, what if they instituted this magic button. Then you used it on the biggest troll here and realized they were your neighbor. Wouldn't that be interesting.
I'd personally relish that scenario.

Why do you think it'd make a difference?
Take a look at the US. Even when the people in the flame wars are known who they are, where they live etc, there's still nonstop political, religious, cultural and gender 'fanwars' going on all the time.

The title is so optimistic it’s cute lol this hypothetical would make everything worse. Things will be more personal and triggering. Fan wars will become brutal.

It would be even worse

Not really

Nah it'd suck b's and I can't see any worth in doing it.

I know I wouldn't bother to get into an online fight with a 13 year old.
But a lot of the older fans seem loud and proud anyway. 55 year old women on twitter setting themselves up as "elder statesmen" who of course have all been following since debut, and pretending they see themselves as fandom mommies until a ship crosses their timeline and they turn psychopathic. Very odd ducks.
