Just look at the downvotes aespa is receiving in the news section for being praised lol but ironically they're the only 2 current girl groups to get a coachella gig and with aespa coming back with an album they'll join blackpink as the 2nd girl group with 1m albums sold. I guess this is the price to pay if you wish to be popular and sucessful

the hate aespa has been getting is over the top, i think they're the top 4th gen gg and i also felt that they did well at coachella today ... but sm and some mys are bringing the hate on to themselves (and it's got nothing to do with popularity or success). the unnecessary media play and now that meme posted by the sm exec which is just plain embarrassing - since when is a 4-song coachella performance in front of a crowd who mostly paid to see billie eilish and the hundred other announced acts a higher achievement than a world tour or solo concert? sm needs a wake up call and needs to stop setting the girls up

Those are just excuses that haters, trolls and envious fans of certain other groups use, to justify this round of shades and bashes.
The truth though is that Blackpink and Aespa articles, next to some other artists (eg. Taeyeon), on AKP's main article site have been structurally getting a lot more downvotes than other groups for a long time now, way before Coachella.
So the hatred isn't Coachella related at all, Coachella and everything around it is just the latest excuse that haters and stans of some other groups use to do what they've been doing for a long time anyway, which is bash groups like Aespa and Blackpink.

I think it's less seen as an achievement and more of an observation, like 'damn, those haters have really been getting riled up because of BP's and Aespa's activities, eh?'

To be really honest, most of the hate I see comes from fans of other girl groups and not Blinks and Mys.
In particular, fans of the other company who try and set up BP and Aespa coz their own groups are underperforming.
Literally the only group right now that people can even consider using to drag BP is Aespa. Any other group will just get laughed out of the conversation.
