can't speak for anyone else but it certainly affected me. Or at least, it removed tbe rose tinted glasses. I no longer stan boy groups. Not only was there burning sun, but it was also the fact how the Korean government fumbled the case, as well as the nth room, as well as how anti-feminist, misogynistic, and just down right inhuman Korea views on women are.
It's hard for me to fan girl on Korean men knowing that is the society majority of them was raised in. So I don't fan girl on male idols any more at all. It's almost instinctual how I have become so repelled by male idols if not just plainly indifferent.
Of course I know not all Korean men are the same and have the same fucked up beliefs, but it's just enough of them that I just cant take boy groups seriously, especially knowing how the idol image is mostly just made up to appeal to consumers.
When I see female stans babying these grown men acting like they are all innocent angels I just cringe internally.
Anyway, I'm not hating on boy group stans, just sharing my experience and perspective.
I don’t think I’ve heard any actual group being involved, just members from groups like BB and CN blue. If Korean public knew then surely they would’ve exposed anyone else already or at least a strong blind rumour
