I didn't mention NCT at all though, I wanted specific reasoning in the case of Exo. I love Exo but I could never see them getting big in the west at least if we are talking about the USA their music just doesn't fit current trends super well and that's what I like about them.

It didn't help that for exo their last cb performance in k-chart is so lackluster despite most of the members participating and how big people said their k-fandom suppossed to be. I know that chen n chaenyeol controversies didn't help exo case but seeing how big exol pre-2020 it's still flabbergasting how underwhelming their last cb.

At least in rv case they chart quite decently and bagging a number of noms in award shows.
